Thanksgiving 2009

~My beautiful Mom and Grammy! Two of the best cooks you will ever meet:)
~This takes SKILL!
~Mia, Ruby and Haley. They are only months apart from one another and love being together! We wish Haley lived closer:(
~The cool table:)
~Stephen, Mom and Me
~Becker and Brettie!
~Didn't my Grammy make the tables look so beautiful!?
~I am thankful for sleeping babies:) And awesome hubbies!

~My mom and Grammy INSISTED that my sister and I both bring 10lbs of mashed potatoes EACH! We had 3 full bowls left over after dinner! Lol!
~I think Grandpa has had enough!

I loooooooooove Thanksgiving! I don't love the sitting in traffic for 2 1/2 hours to get to thanksgiving dinner, but it was well worth it:) This year was the first time in many years we got to spend Thanksgiving with my family. It was so great having my Grammy there from Texas, my Aunt Rebecca from NY, Jess and Haley from Boston and all the others who traveled from near or far to get there! I am so grateful for such a wonderful family who TRULY loves to be with one another!

Mia's Kindergarten Feast!

~Just LOOK at that turkey!!! It was AMAZING!
~Mia's paper says that she is grateful for her family! Awwww.....
~Each child in the class got up and said what they were thankful for. Mia was grateful for the Earth. Kinda random, but that's my Mia:)

My little blue eyed Indian.

It was really fun getting to see Mia at school and help out with the kindergarten feast! Mia got to be an Indian, and they re-enacted the Pilgrim/Indian story and it was sooooo cute! Then they got to come inside, say what they were thankful for, and sit down for an amazing Thanksgiving feast! Seriously, the food was DELICIOUS! So thankful that I get to be Max, Mia and Van's mom:) Life is good!

Cousins

My sister has to be one of the most talented people I know! She got her BFA years ago and claims that since she has had children, she just doesn't have the time to paint anymore. So children's faces have become her blank canvas. This is just something she does for fun, and the kids LOVE IT! Just wanted to share.....

Hallow's Eve

~Our little mans first Halloween. He was a leopard.
~Out before the night even began!

~My sister and her cute family!
~Cousins
~My in-laws Tom & Val aka Mana and Popop!
~Action shot. Seriously. Could not get them to stop even to take a picture!~The loot.

Super fun Halloween this year since we had both sets of grandparents there to join in the festivities! We went trick-or-treating in my sisters neighborhood and started the night off with some good ol' fashioned chili and cornbread! I don't think I had to stop walking the entire night because my kids were SPRINTING from one house to the next, so by the time I reached a house they would already be running to the next. Let's just say they each got their own weight in candy and then some:)
I have enjoyed eating it very much.

Ouch!

Okay. So in my defense, this is the first of my three children to EVER be in a cast! 7 yrs and only one cast. I would say that's pretty good....
Here's the story:
So Max was playing with Van while I was packing to go to San Francisco for the weekend. Max went down the stairs and Van apparently followed him. All I heard was a tumble and then SILENCE. You know your kid is hurt when it takes them a while to cry...So I scoop him up and try comforting him and he seems to calm down after a minute or two. The poor kid was coming down with a cold also and was kinda fussy already. I really didn't think much of it, and I was in such a rush to get out of the house to drop him off at a friends that I didn't think that he really could have hurt himself falling down the stairs!
Fast forward through the weekend and when I see him on Monday I notice he is not crawling...Hmmm...that's weird. Tuesday rolls around. No crawling. Finally on Wednesday I called my pediatrician and they saw him that day. The doc thought it was his elbow and so sent me off to Radiology to get some x-rays taken of his shoulder and elbow. No fracture they tell me. So I go home and Van still is not crawling...Fast forward to Monday (which is the soonest apt I could get to see the Pediatric Ortho), they x-ray his arm and wrist and in about 30 sec were able to tell thathis arm was BROKEN! So they took him back and put a full arm cast on him that he gets to have and not get wet for the next 2 weeks!
I think I should be in the running for Best Mother of the Year award. It only took me 10 days to realize that my baby's arm was broken! Awesome.

Happy Birthday Mia!

~On the Menu: Eyeball Soup de la Creme and Pumpkin Grilled Cheese Sandwiches! YUM!

~Why? you ask, is Mia shirtless? Why not???
~Mia loves her Grammy!
~On Mia's actual b-day, we went over to Tara's and she painted Mia and Ruby's faces and we went and got ice cream!
~Mia got a princess bike for her birthday! She LOVES it!
~Can't believe my baby girl is FIVE! Such a big girl:) Love you Pia!!
